Hello parents! Sorry for the delay with updates.
The year is well under way by now and your child has been taught and is still practicing classroom routines. You probably have a good idea by now about the workload and schedule. I am posting a class schedule now that it is finalized (I hope!) for you to refer to. Also, I will post a list of first names so that you know the number of students/names in case you send birthday items (no food) or later on Valentine cards.
I greatly appreciated the turnout for Open House (Curriculum Night). The students were thrilled that so many of you enjoyed their iMovie.
Classcraft has now been "whitelisted" by the board and so students can go to Classcraft.com and sign in using their ocsb email (fisrtname.lastname@ocsbstudent.ca) and the Classcraft passwords has been reset to "1" to make it easy for students. Great news! You the parent, can now also participate and even award your child gold coins for great effort with homework etc. I am sending home a form explaining this and providing a code to log in. Each child has the ability to see their team stats. You can also get an idea of how your child's school days are going if you click on the gamefeed arrow at the top of the screen, once you are in the dashboard screen. Have fun!!
You will be receiving forms to fill out for swimming soon, if your child is in grade 3.
Thank you for having your children bring back to school with them all school materials each morning (even unfinished homework assigned for the following week), check the boxes in front of agenda items, and also for signing the agenda each evening. Reminder: A parent signature means that you have seen homework is complete and that the box was checked.
Note: You are welcome to have your child study when a subject is not assigned. I try not to overload parents and students with too much work. However, if you feel your child deserves an extra challenge or needs extra practice, feel free to write in the agenda “Bring home (Science notes) over the weekend, for example.
It is obvious to me that the Super Three Four students are very well supported at home. Thank you for your time and effort. It makes such a difference!
